Susan Capel is an Emeritus Professor (Physical Education) at Brunel University, UK. Joanne Cliffe is Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham, where she is Programme Lead for the Secondary Physical Education PGDipEd(QTS) and Director for the MA Teaching Studies. Julia Lawrence was, until recently, Senior Lecturer at the University of Hull, UK.
